Field Service
Gate Technician — Commercial Gate & Access Systems
Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial gate systems for self-storage facilities throughout Indiana and surrounding markets. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the mechanical side of commercial gates first, and can also work with operators, low-voltage wiring, and access-control equipment. We’re looking for real commercial gate experience — not solely security, fire alarm, CCTV, or low-voltage.
What you’ll do
- Install and repair sliding, swing, and vertical-pivot gate systems
- Service gate operators, motors, controls, and safety devices
- Install and troubleshoot keypads, card readers, and vehicle loops
- Pull and terminate low-voltage wiring through existing conduit
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
- Document work, photos, and receipts through company systems
What we’re looking for
- Hands-on commercial gate and operator install/repair experience
- Works independently with limited supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Working knowledge of low-voltage and access control
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors year-round
- 7+ years relevant experience preferred — strong direct gate experience considered
Pay & benefits
- $30–$36+/hr, more for highly experienced gate techs

Travel: Daily driving to customer sites. Most work is in the Indianapolis market as day trips, with occasional 2–3 day overnight trips into surrounding states.
Experience that helps: DoorKing, LiftMaster, AutoGate, FAAC, Viking Access, OSCO, PTI, OpenTech Alliance, vehicle loops, commercial fencing, welding, or garage-door operator systems.
